Woman Accused Of Chasing And Shooting At Driver Who Ran Over Chicken In The Road
A West Virginia woman is facing all sorts of charges after she allegedly chased a driver down and then fired multiple gunshots at them after they hit a chicken in the road outside her home.
The West Virginia State Police responded last Friday to an intersection in Wirt County after a man was reportedly shot at, according to the criminal complaint.
A state trooper who responded said he was driving his side-by-side down the road when he struck a chicken that was in the road in front of a house. He continued on down the road when suddenly a driver in a Toyota Tacoma was hanging on their horn and tailgaiting him.
When he turned at an intersection, the driver put the pickup truck in park, got out and shot at him three times. He told the trooper he was able to see the gun pointed at him when the shots were fired.
The victim told law enforcement he recognized and knew the suspect to be Bobbie Drennen.
Drennen told the trooper that victim drove past her home at a high rate of speed while her children were out playing and struck her children in the middle of the road.
The complaint says she told the trooper she "chased him down" and met him at the intersection, after he didn't stop, she claims she fired her gun in the air.
Drennen was placed under arrest and seized the firearm. She was charged with wanton endangerment with a firearm and taken to the Wood County Holding Center to await arraignment.
