A man and woman were both arrested after an incident last Wednesday where they were accused of stealing "sexually oriented merchandise," threatening employees, injuring one man, and fleeing the scene, according to police in Santa Fe.

Santa Fe Police Department said their officers went to the Love, ETC store after being called to the scene, where they were told that 49-year-old Du Huyan, and 45-year-old Heather Martinez stole merchandise and a store employee had tried to recover the items.

The employee said that Huyah hit him in the back several times with his fists, then pointed a gun at him. Another person stepped in and struggled with Huyan, according to the release.

Getting what they came for, Huyan got in the passenger seat of a car wheeled by Martinez, the car went in reverse, knocking the second intervening person to the ground before driving off.

Santa Fe Police were later able to locate the vehicle, and a traffic stop was attempted. At this point, Huyan was driving, and he sped off. The police followed, and initiated a PIT maneuver, spinning the car to a stop.

The best part is that the police department even shared video from the chase.

Huyan and Martinez were arrested and booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center. Huyan is charged with battery, aggravated assault, fleeing a police officer, larceny, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (two counts). Martinez is charged with aggravated battery (deadly weapon) and larceny.
