Walcott Truckers Jamboree Rolls Into Iowa 80 This Weekend With Free Concerts, Fireworks, and Hundreds of Big Rigs

The 48th Annual Walcott Truckers Jamboree is happening July 9-11 at the world-famous Iowa 80 Truckstop in Walcott, Iowa. The three-day event celebrates America's truck drivers with truck shows, live music, fireworks, food, family activities, and more than 175 exhibits. Best of all, admission and parking are completely free.

Thousands of visitors are expected to make the trip to Walcott for one of the Midwest's largest trucking celebrations. The event has grown significantly since its beginnings in 1979 and now features everything from antique trucks to modern show trucks competing for top honors.

One of the biggest attractions is the Super Truck Beauty Contest, where professionally customized semis from across North America compete for awards. Visitors can also explore the Antique Truck Display, watch competitors battle it out in the Trucker Olympics, and browse hundreds of vendors and exhibits throughout the grounds.

Music fans will find plenty to enjoy as well. Thursday's entertainment includes performances from Dani Lynn Howe Band and The Schmidt Brothers. On Friday, Angela Meyer & The Western Stars will take the stage before country hitmakers Little Texas headline the evening concert. Saturday's entertainment features Shiny Shiny Black. All concerts are free and open to the public.

The Iowa Pork Chop Cookout returns all three days, serving up one of the Jamboree's most popular traditions. Visitors can also stick around for fireworks displays scheduled for Thursday and Friday nights at dusk.

A unique addition this year is a celebration at the Iowa 80 Trucking Museum honoring the museum's 1926 FWD truck, which turns 100 years old. The birthday event will include a special presentation and cake on Friday afternoon.
