According to the Cleveland Clinic, about 70 million people in the United States suffer from sleep disorders. I am one of them. There are approximately 80 different types of sleep disorders which means finding the one someone is dealing with can be hard. You've probably heard of the top three.

  1. Insomnia.
  2. Sleep apnea.
  3. Restless legs syndrome.

At first I just thought I was a light sleeper. It was cool when I was younger since I could just wake up ready to go at anytime. Compared to others who call themselves "deep sleepers" the slightest change in the room would wake me up.

Fast forward to my 20s and I still have this problem. My sister also struggles with it. We've tried everything from anxiety medication, melatonin, and more. Sadly nothing works. I still wake up.

No matter how tired I am I can't stay asleep. I find myself tired throughout the day. Leading me to drink more than one energy drink a day, which I assume doesn't help either.

Experts generally recommend that adults sleep at least seven to nine hours per night. I only get a straight 3. It's easy for me to fall back to sleep, but I wake up again shortly after.

At this point I'll take any tricks, or suggestions on how to get a full night sleep. Medication is just not cutting it. Let me know through any B100 social media, or through our app.
