It's great to talk about businesses coming to the Quad Cities. This one has been here before.

Kirkland's is a furniture and home goods store based in Tennessee. If the name sounds familiar, it's because there used to be a Kirkland's at Northpark Mall, but closed back in 2004.

According to KWQC, Kirkland's is preparing to open in the Elmore Marketplace shopping center at 4235 Elmore Avenue next month. It's in the same space as Pier 1 which closed permanently last year.

The QC Times reported back in 2004 that customers were very upset the store was closing at Northpark. A second store at Southpark Mall closed the year before. No reason other than the store's lease had expired was given for the store's closing.

KWQC's story indicates reporters there reached out to Kirkland's to ask why they decided to come back to the Quad Cities, but hasn't heard back from the store's reps.

Kirkland's operates 374 stores in 35 states according to their website. If you want to get a leg up on the savings when the store opens in Davenport, log onto their website, enter your email and you get get a 20% off coupon.
