A local fundraiser in April will feature a well-known "Saturday Night Live" alum.

SNL star Tim Meadows will be at the "Live from QC, it's Saturday Nite!" fundraiser for Gilda's Club Quad Cities at the Rhythm City Casino and Hotel in Davenport on April 2nd.

Tim Meadows was one of the longest-tenured SNL cast members, having been on the show for 10 seasons and was nominated for an Emmy Award in 1993.

The event will also feature the popular local band, Soul Storm. The night will have another SNL link too- it will honor Gilda Radner, who was the first cast member hired on SNL and who is the basis for the Gilda's Club mission.

There will be heavy hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar, fund-a-need, and a silent auction. According to the event's website, 'dressy casual' is your fashion guide for the night.

If you want to go, individual tickets are $75 and a gala table of 8 people is $500. You can get tickets and more details here.

Doors will open at 6:15, with the event beginning at 6:30.

Money that's raised at the event will stay local and help out the programs and services that Gilda's Club Quad Cities provides. The organization, as their website says, "empower people to face their cancer diagnosis with strength and a sense of community".

At no cost to them, participants in Gilda's Club events can take yoga or nutrition classes, learn more about topics related to their cancer journey, and participate in group activities.
