Man Responsible for QCA Murder Is Back in Local Jail

A man convicted of one of the grisliest known murders the Quad Cities has ever witnessed is back in a local jail. Chad Michael Welsh, at 37-year-old man originally from Burlington, Iowa, was serving time for child pornography charges when he was found guilty of murder.

Angela Hennes of Davenport was found in a field in 2007. She had been assaulted, strangled, dragged, and burned beyond recognition. The case remained cold until Welsh was arrested on the cild porn charges. DNA evidence tied Welsh to Hennes's death, and he was convicted of first degree murder in 2012. He was also convicted of nonconsensual termination; Hennes was pregnant at the time of her death.

Welsh is being transferred from a federal prison where he was serving the child porn charges. There's no word on how long he will be in the Scott County Jail before being transferred to a state prison to carry out the rest of his life sentence.
