A few weeks ago Midwest Ale Works teamed up with Carson King and brewed a beer with the hopes that sales from the beer could help the Iowa derecho relief charity.

They came up with Midwest Saison made with Iowa grown hops and malt. The crowlers of beer are labeled with a custom artwork from an Iowa artist and the beer is ready to consume.

Carson King is coming to Twin Span Brewing Saturday, November 14 to hang out and help sell some beer. A portion of each sale of this limited run beer goes to aid farmers and small business owners impacted by the derecho in August.

The official release of the Midwest Legend brew and the tastings start at Twin Span Brewing, 6776 Championship Drive, Bettendorf at 3 pm. The brewers invite everyone to come hang out with Carson King and taste this special beer.

Carson is a champion at raising money. You'll recall his fundraising efforts started at an Iowa/Iowa State game when Carson held up a sign saying he was out of beer; send money. He went on to raise nearly $3 million for the University of Iowa Children's Hospital.

This time the funds are going to the Iowa derecho relief fund; helping Iowans who were impacted by the historical storm. I can support that cause too. Plus, drinking beer for charity speaks to my soul. See you there.
