Niabi Zoo Celebrating 60th Birthday With Concert In East Moline
The year is 1963. Thousands march on Washington D.C. and watch Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. give his "I Have A Dream" speech, zip codes become a thing in the U.S., and the Niabi Zoo and Coal Valley, IL opens their doors.
60 years later, the Niabi Zoo continues to be a place where exotic animals call home and a place to learn about those animals and their habitats. To celebrate the Quad Cities' popular zoo, the Niabi Zoo Foundation is hosting a birthday bash to raise money for the zoo.
The Niabi Zoo Foundation invites the public to party with a purpose in May. The foundation is hosting a birthday bash in celebration of the zoo's 60th birthday on Thursday, May 4 at the Rust Belt in East Moline.
When you buy a ticket for the birthday bash, you will enjoy an unforgettable evening of music, while also contributing to the vital work of the zoo. This will be a wild night of music and entertainment by renowned show band, Maggie Speaks.
The concert will feature special appearances by Niabi Zoo staff and the Foundation Board, to provide an up-close look at the organization's new master plan.
Raising Money For The Niabi Zoo
Funds raised from the concert will support the zoo's animal care, education, and conservation programs. With your help, the Niabi Zoo can create new habitats and continue to provide safe and nurturing homes for animal residents, as well as educate and inspire others to make a positive impact on wildlife conservation efforts.
The Niabi Zoo's 60th birthday is an important milestone for the organization. Since its founding in 1963, the zoo has been dedicated to its mission of promoting wildlife conservation through education, research, and animal care.
Krisan Steiger, Chair of the Niabi Zoo Foundation said about the event,
“We are thrilled to host this concert fundraiser to support our ongoing efforts to protect and conserve wildlife, especially as we celebrate our 60th anniversary. We hope the community will join us for a night of music and fun, while also supporting a great cause to allow the zoo to continue creating memorable experiences for families now and generations to come.”
Doors for the Birthday Bash open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m. Additional event details and updates can be found at niabizoofoundation.com or on the Niabi Zoo Foundation Facebook page.
