Moline Is Rallying To Help A Local High School Student
If we've learned anything in the last month, it's that folks in Iowa come together when someone needs help. First, it was Carson King raising more than $1 million for the kids at University of Iowa's Stead Family Children's Hospital.
Now, it's being proven again right here in Moline. On Monday, September 30, Dakovion (Kovi) Kennedy – a student at Moline high school – was taken to Genesis Medical Center, for what was thought to be a concussion. Now, he is in critical condition at a hospital in Peoria, as it was discovered that he has a virus that is attacking his organs.
While his family sticks by him and the doctors try to help Kennedy through, the community is also doing their part. In just four days, more than $9,000 has been raised to help with Kennedy's medical expenses.
The goal is $10,000, though who would be upset if they went over that? If you want to help, you can donate here. We're hoping for the best for Kovi!
