Moline’s New Housing Addition?

There are plans and a vision in Moline to add hundreds of homes.

There's a beautiful bluff, just south of the Quad City International Airport where owning a home there could be a reality. Thanks to a purchase the City of Moline made, three farms (about 300 acres) that sit on a bluff behind the airport, are slated to be a new housing addition.

“It’s flat on the Iowa side, and on the Illinois side, we have all these ravines and hills and valleys, and the two rivers. So, we’re literally landlocked east and west, so we can only grow south, and you have to go up the bluff,” said Ray Forsythe, the city’s planning and development director." at WQAD.com.

Moline is looking to expand water and utility service in that direction, which begins the next- steps-process towards making this vision a reality.
