Gone are the days of bedsheet ghosts.

Halloween 2026 is coming in hot and that means you need to go ahead and figure out a costume. Whether you're a fan of an elaborate costume, sexy 'fit, your favorite TV character, or a classic vampire, it's time to get the costume ready.

For one thing, you need to be ready to win cash for cool costumes at the Halloween Ball.

Yep, the most popular costume in both states last year were KPop Demon Hunters, which you likely know pretty well if you have kids.

The smash hit characters were the most popular costumes nationally after being the biggest movie of 2025.

But the favorite costumes behind them on the list are interesting. They were followed in popularity by Plus-Size Women's costumes, Sexy Women's costumes, Witch, Dinosaur, Ghostbusters, Clowns, Pirates, Renaissance, Wizard Of Oz, Scary, Star Wars, Infant, Disney, and Dog.

The argument for Disney's popularity in Hawaii, Louisiana, and Virginia is that 3 Disney movies take place there: "Lilo & Stitch" is set in Hawaii, "The Princess and the Frog" is set in New Orleans, and "Pocahontas" is set in Virginia. Mind you, this is the same country that chose 'Pirate' is a popular costume in the completely landlocked Colorado.

What About Halloween 2026?

Last year was the year KPop Demon Hunters ruled the planet, but what Netflix/streaming characters will take over the costume parties this year?

Whatever you decide to be this Halloween, remember it's October and it's going to be cold outside. But you could win money for it at the Halloween Ball.
