It seems like it's going to be another cooler weekend, which is a bit of a bummer after hitting nearly 70 degrees earlier this week. But the warm weather will return, and soon! Last I had checked, we are supposed to get up to 67 degrees next weekend.

That means pretty soon we'll be able to enjoy weekend activities outside again! And if you're looking for a nice bike ride, Bettendorf will be the place to go. According to the Quad-City Times, the city is getting three new segments of bike trails that will add roughly 2.2 miles to the 27 already in place.

One segment, just shy of a mile long, will be built along the north side of Spruce Hills Drive between 18th Street and Utica Ridge Road. Trees along the route have already been removed, and more will follow.

But it will take time. According to the Times' report, 10 intersections have to be rebuilt and made compliant with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) regulations. As a result, construction likely won't begin until June, and will span two construction seasons.
