New Food Bank Opens In Davenport

When one door closes, another opens.

This is the case with the old J.B. Young Middle School in Davenport. When the Davenport School District decided to close the school, it was re-purposed into many different things. One was a new River Bend Food bank which is a partnership of the foodbank, the Davenport Community School District, Davenport Education Association and St. Paul Lutheran Church.

According to the QC Times, the pantry will be open Tuesdays, 4:30-7:30 p.m., and Saturdays, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Individuals in need of food assistance also are invited to call River Bend, at 563-345-6490, or check here.
