Niabi Zoo Cancels Huge Birthday Celebration In East Moline
60 years ago, the Niabi Zoo opened its doors in Coal Valley, IL. In 2023, the Niabo Zoo and its foundation planned a fun evening with music and entertainment while raising money for the zoo.
If you were looking forward to that event happening Thursday night in East Moline, you'll need to find new plans. The Niabi Zoo announced today that the event has been cancelled.
In a press release on Tuesday, officials from the Niabi Zoo and the Niabi Zoo Foundation said that they regretted informing everyone that their 60th Birthday Bash at the Rust Belt in East Moline this Thursday has been cancelled.
There was no reason given for the cancellation, but officials had this to say in the press release:
"We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who showed interest and support for the event, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Our team is already working on exciting ways to celebrate Niabi Zoo's 60th anniversary throughout the year. We hope to have your continued support in our future efforts."
The Niabi Zoo's 60th Birthday Bash was set to feature renowned show band Maggie Speaks.
This was a ticketed event and officials want people to know who bought tickets to check their emails for more refund information. Refunds to all ticket holders through the original payment method within 5-7 business days.
The Niabi Zoo and its foundation thank everyone for their understanding and hope to see zoo-goers at future events happening at the zoo.
