Ever since the Facebook hack, where over 500 million people had their information leaked, I've been getting spam texts and calls nonstop! It's annoying and frustrating, but it gives me something to rant and warn the Quad Cities about.

From Amazon to UPS, scammers love lying about your deliveries.

If you get a text like this:

174152079_511712573337024_3842123218096412741_n
loading...

There is a good chance it is a scam. Notice how vague it is. notice the random double space. It is a scam. I've already received this text twice. Both with different parcel numbers.

Make sure you delete these texts as soon as possible. If you do have a UPS package you are worried about, check your email.

Under no circumstances should you click the link they send you. Once you click that link the scammers have won, and now may be able to do some damage to your phone, or get more of your information.

You probably already know most of this. These kinds of attacks target older individuals who may not understand the harm of clicking a link. It's always important to remind family not to trust links like these.

Now that millions of people's information has been leaked there are countless new targets. I am currently one of them.
