At this point I almost feel bad for these scammers. Key word being almost. They are still awful people for what they do, but it feels like they aren't even trying anymore. Yesterday I got hit with a phone call and text about my car's extended warranty.

The text is filled with errors, and is just sad. It feels like who ever sent this has a number they have to send. Scamming at this point is just a 9 to 5 for people.

Here was the text the scammers sent after I missed the phone call:

Great stuff honestly! At this point it's just annoying to get these, but again it's important to remember that these scams target an older generation. Always check in with parents and grandparents to make sure they are not being scammed.

There is also another in person scam going on in the QCA. According to KWQC, credit card skimmers were found in Mt. Pleasant. Police are now looking for suspects. The skimmers were reportedly placed at a local gas station.

Local police said in a Facebook post,

“Three skimmers were seized and the local banks were made aware. Local banks have been great in providing illegal transactions on the cloned cards to law enforcement. It was determined that these two male subjects were the ones using the cards.”

It appears that it's not just over the phone scams hitting us in the QCA, but physical ones too. As always stay safe, and stay vigilant Quad Cities.

Million Dollar Quad Cities Home vs Million Dollar Los Angeles Home

We all know the joke about how much houses cost in LA. I decided that it would be fun to look at a million dollar home in LA and compare that to a million dollar home right here in the Quad Cities.
Here are the two spot we are comparing:
12513 Walsh Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90066
Cost: $1,195,000
984 sqft | 3 Bed | 2 Bath

VS

901 46th Street Dr, Moline, IL 61265
Cost: $995,000
15,291 sqft | 6 Bed | 11 Bath

Clearly one is a bit bigger than the other.
