A Christmastime favorite attraction isn't on the docket in one Wisconsin town.

According to NBC Chicago, Ice Castles in Lake Geneva has announced that they will not be opening for the 2024-2025 winter season.

The creators of the attraction (which is also known as Winter Realms) made the announcement on Wednesday, citing "record-breaking warm weather experienced in the area over the last few years".

Last year, the attraction had to close early because of warm weather and in 2023, it only had a 3-day season because of the warm weather.

Ice Castles said in a statement:

Creating a magical winter experience is something that the creators of both Winter Realms and Ice Castles take tremendous pride in. The company will spend the next year focusing on innovating a concept that lives up to the standards guests expect and deserve and hope to return to Lake Geneva in the future

Even though they hope to return to Lake Geneva "soon", they didn't offer up a timetable on when that might be.

Ice Castles is a winter attraction that operates in multiple states, including Minnesota. At the Lake Geneva location, they typically offer "horse-drawn sleigh rides, ice volcanoes, igloos, tubing activities, mesmerizing ice sculptures, ice slides and ice thrones". They have ice caverns and tunnels as well as skating opportunities.

For the Lake Geneva closure this year, Ice Castles CEO Kyle Standifird said in a statement:

It has been a true pleasure to host our enchanting winter attraction at Geneva National, where we have had the joy of creating lasting memories for families and friends over the years. We are incredibly thankful for the support received and the happiness we have shared with the thousands of guests

You Could Own The Greatest House In The State Of Wisconsin

There's a home in Wisconsin that everyone in the state would call the best house on the market. The house is reasonably priced for the amount of money you could get out of it. Why does this house sound like a gold mine? Because it sits and looks directly at the heart of Title Town U.S.A., the legendary Lambeau Field, the home of the Green Bay Packers.
