We love a good football season tailgate.

On October 24th, Iowa will take on Minnesota and you can cheer/curse at the Hawkeyes at a family-friendly tailgate for a cause.

The Ohl Strong Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Tailgate will be at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds' Starlight Ballroom on that Saturday from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Besides enjoying the game with food and drinks, you can also take part in a silent auction and raffle, face painting, caricatures, annual Ohl Strong shirts, and ways for you to "honor, remember and support pancreatic cancer patients and loved ones".

100% of proceeds from the event will go to help the Dr. Brent Ohl Strong Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Endowment Fund, which supports families and individuals dealing with pancreatic cancer in the Quad Cities.

Every identified pancreatic cancer patient within 75 miles of the QC gets $500 in Visa gift cards to help ease some of the financial burdens that can come along with being a cancer patient. The patients can also request a Make a Memory/Ohl Opportunity Grant, which allows the patient to ask for additional financial help to "create a meaningful memory with the people they love".

If you go to the tailgate, you're encouraged to wear anything purple, as that is the color of pancreatic cancer awareness. The event kicks off November, which is the month of pancreatic cancer awareness.
