Marvel Universe Live! is coming to TaxSlayer Center this summer and It. Is. Incredible. I got a chance to fly out to Houston last week to see the show, and get a peek behind the scenes.

Here's some of the things you'll see at the show:

    ALL your favorite heroes

Any audience member, big or small, will find a hero they love in this show. There's the Marvel staples – Iron Man, Captain America, and Hulk – and even some unexpected heroes and villains like Wasp, Rhino and Iron Fist.

The story weaves them all together on a mission, making for some really fun dynamics and AMAZING fight scenes.

    Pyrotechnics

Marvel movies have become known for their incredible action sequences, with explosions and special effects galore. This show is no different; at one point, there are literal fireworks.

One of the coolest moments I captured was Doctor Strange's arrival (yes, he's in it too. Seriously, they're all here). I'm still not totally sure how they did it.

    Gravity-defying stunts

Spider-Man is known for his superhuman ability to swing through the city using his webs. And that's exactly how he makes his entrance in Marvel Universe Live! He doesn't just drop in, he SWINGS in.

From there, it only gets amped up further. Spidey even fights off some attackers on bikes. Check out part of that scene:

    New Creatures

In the Marvel Universe, there's more than just heroes and villains. There's crazy creatures and aliens (though, they are generally villains).

In this show, brand new creatures are introduced, including Brenda. She has a much scarier scientific name, but that's how the costume director introduced her to me. They even let me try on her head!

    Movie Makeup

Along with incredible new creatures, audiences will also see attention to detail.

Yondu, of Guardians of the Galaxy fame, is in the show, along with Nebula and her sister Gamora. All three look exactly as they do in the films. So does Yondu's crew.

Tyler Hubbard, one of the stuntmen in the show, made me over into one of Yondu's Ravagers, and let me tell you, I got some concerned looks on the plane. (One TSA agent thought I had really been in battle). Complete with a ravager costume, I was ready to go.
