Popular Eastern Iowa Winery Is Closing At The End Of The Year
Patrons of a popular winery in eastern Iowa will only have the remainder of the year to enjoy it. At the end of 2024, a winery and vineyard in a small town in eastern Iowa will close its doors after 15 years.
Those who have had the pleasure of visiting Ardon Creek Vineyard & Winery know why it's been popular over the past 15 years. At the end of this year, you'll no longer be able to visit or find a bottle made from Ardon Creek in stores again.
The owner announced that at the end of the year, they have plans to close Adron Creek.
Ardon Creek Vineyard & Winery To Close At The End Of 2024
Ardon Creek owner Chad Furlong has announced that he and his team plan to close Ardon Creek Vineyard & Winery (2391 Independence Ave.) in Letts, IA for good at the end of the year.
Chad said in the social media post,
It is with heavy hearts we announce our intention to close Ardon Creek Vineyard & Winery at the end of 2024.
Over the past 15 years, we've had the privilege to share our passion for winemaking and community-building with our friends. From the first vine planted to our final fermentation, your support has been the lifeblood of our winery, and for that, we are deeply grateful. While this chapter is coming to an end later this year, the spirit of Ardon Creek will live on in the memories we've made and the friendships we've formed over the years.
Ardon Creek says customers are invited to join them for their final season of their "Music in the Vineyard" concert series.
If you're worried about not finding Ardon Creek wine in stores, Furloung says they plan to sell to the retailers where they are currently available until the end of the year or until they run out of stock, whichever comes first. They also plan on attending the Davenport, Cedar Rapids, Burlington, and Des Moines Farmers' Markets for the rest of this year. The tasting room will also remain open until the fall unless they run out of inventory. They will decide on the tasting room's closing date later in the year, but it will be sometime before 2025.
The Ardon Creek Winery and Tasting Room, which was opened in 2008 by founders Mike and Diane Furlong (Chad's parents), has had a rich history long before that. Try to find time to enjoy Ardon Creek Vineyard and Winery one more time before they close up shop.
