Popular Illinois Dog-Friendly Coffee Shop Is Permanently Closing

This is never fun or good news to share. A coffee shop in Illinois that has been tailoring to dog owners since its opening is closing its doors. People enjoy the coffee and having a place to bring your pet is a major bonus.

The business made the announcement Thursday morning and it was a shock to many people to hear the news. Loyal customers and people who have visited shared kind words and condolences.

If you want to bring your four-legged family member and get a cup of coffee at Barkin' Beans in Silvis, Ill. one more time, you better do it sooner rather than later.

Barkin' Beans Opens In June of 2023

Back in June of 2023, a new coffeehouse opened at the site of the form Iron + Grain location at 1251 Avenue of the Cities in Silvis. This new coffee shop was an extremely dog-friendly shop that served coffee and pup cups. This new place was named Barkin' Beans Coffee Co.

Barkin' Beans Coffee Co. is a local, veteran-owned drive-thru coffee shop that has been welcoming both you and your furry sidekick.

The new coffee shop held a soft opening in mid-June with a grand opening on July 1, 2023. Not even a year later, the business is closing its doors.

Barkin' Beans Is Closing Soon

In a social media post on Thursday morning, the owners of Barkin' Beans Coffee Co. announced that they will be closing up shop in April. The closure announcement read as follows:

"Hi Furiends. We will be going out of business next month. Unfortunately, we have completely exhausted all of our resources. There is no coming back from the financial turmoil we are in. We don’t have a certain date, we are just going to stay open to sell as much inventory as we can. We will absolutely update you when we have a specific closing date. Thank you for taking this ride with us. We love you more than anything. I look forward to serving you until then."

There is no exact closure date for Barkin' Beans Coffee Co. yet. It's sad to see another Quad Cities local business close its doors.
