Quad Cities Can Now Get COVID-19 Vaccines Without Appointment At Hy-Vee
If you have been waiting to schedule an appointment for your COVID-19 vaccine, but haven't had time yet, Hy-Vee just made it a whole lot easier. On Tuesday April 27th they announced that they were no longer requiring appointments. Hy-Vee stated,
Vaccines available at all Hy-Vee Pharmacy locations with no appointment necessary.
Hy-Vee is currently administering the Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines. According to KCRG, nearly 1 million Iowans have been vaccinated, but doctors say more needs to be done to reach herd immunity.
A recent poll found 20 percent of Iowans say they will not get vaccinated. This comes as vaccine demand begins to decrease.
Thankfully those who do wish to acquire the vaccine can now get it much easier. Hy-Vee also went on to list those who could be vaccinated in states that they are located in.
- Iowa: "For Iowa residents only, Hy-Vee is currently vaccinating to the following groups: All Iowa residents 16 years of age and olderNOTE: According to Nebraska government officials, Iowa residents may NOT schedule a vaccination appointment in Nebraska."
- Illinois: "For Illinois residents only, Hy-Vee is currently vaccinating to the following groups: All Illinois residents 16 years of age and older"
Hy-Vee is also offering information about the vaccine for those who are a bit nervous, or those who may want to know more about the vaccines.
