Over 800 people from the Quad Cities and beyond have rallied through social media to support a Davenport family that lost their son Sunday in an accident. A Go Fund Me Page as of Wednesday morning has raised almost $37,000 and been shared 3800 times.

According to the Quad City Times, Braddock Shovlain, 3, the son of Renee and David Shovlain, died after he was struck about 3:10 p.m. by a Chevrolet Silverado in the parking lot of All Saints Catholic School, 1926 N. Marquette St., Davenport. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at Genesis Medical Center-East Rusholme Street, Davenport. The accident remains under investigation. Braddock was the youngest of four boys and attended pre-school at St. Paul the Apostle.

Shawna Lange of Davenport, who is a friend of the family, created the page and funds continue to pour in. Both parents, Dave and Renee Shovlain are educators in Davenport schools. For over a decade, I've dj'ed dances at North High School where Dave is the athletic director. I've gotten to know him on a professional level over that time, and my heart breaks for him and his family. As a father of a toddler, I can't imagine what the family is going through, and can only ask that you pray for Braddock and the Shovlain family. You can also contribute to the Go Fund Me campaign here.
