This week will have two firsts for wrestling in the Quad City Area-- on Monday night, St. Ambrose University wrestled their first ever dual as a wrestling program in the athletic department's history.  On Saturday QCA Wrestle will put on the area's first ever preseason exhibition meet between local Iowa and Illinois wresters.

The event will take place on Saturday, November 6th at Davenport Assumption gymnasium at 6:00 PM.  General admission tickets can be purchased here.

On Monday night, St. Ambrose wrestled Augustana at Lee Lohman Arena on St. Ambrose campus.

St. Ambrose, led by Head Coach Bo Bettinson, held off Auguatana 24-23 thanks to an upper weight fall by Dylan Meiners at 184 and an Augustana team point deduction.

What a great night for wrestling in the QCA and the future of the Fighting Bees wrestling program.  Also, this was awesome-- HONORARY CAPTAIN OWEN DANGESLER...

Local high school wrestlers will compete this Saturday for early season bragging rights of who is the best of the best in the QCA.

QCA Wrestle will put on their first exhibition dual on Saturday and they are looking to build already.  After seeking and securing the best wrestling talent in Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois, they good people at QCA Wrestle are already thinking to the future.

Not only are they wishing to hold this event every year (and maybe rotating venues), they would also like to have a post season exhibition dual and also host a youth (non-high school) meet between Iowa and Illinois.

Here is a look at the matchups on Saturday...
