RAGBRAI Davenport Announces Theme, Logo, And Dip Site
Davenport will be the ending spot of the 50th RAGBRAI and organizers are revealing more about what the event will look like.
RAGBRAI is turning 50 this year and will end the cross-state journey for tens of thousands of cyclists. The theme for RAGBRAI Davenport is "Be Bold. Ride Gold", in honor of RAGBRAI's 50th anniversary.
The dip site will be at Veteran's Memorial Park and the Marquette Street boat ramp. The event logo looks like this:
Mayor Mike Matson said about RAGBRAI Davenport:
We look forward to welcoming thousands of visitors to our community, just as we did fifty years ago as the dip site during the inaugural RABGRAI event.
It's The Same Weekend As The Bix
And you thought the Bix alone was a party weekend. Try this on for size. The Quad-City Times Bix 7 will be July 29th, which is the same day that RAGBRAI riders will wrap up their 500-mile journey across Iowa in Davenport. There will be thousands of people in Davenport for the festivities. Bix aside, according to RAGBRAI Davenport's website, they're expecting 30,000+ cyclists in the QC to dip their tires in the Mississippi River.
Details about a welcome celebration and long-term parking for visitors are still TBD but you can keep up with the latest from RAGBRAI Davenport on their website or on their Facebook page.
