It's the 50th anniversary of the Bix!

The Quad Cities never halfway does anything and this year is the Quad-City Times Bix 7's 50th birthday! So the parties will be extra poppin' for sure.

We at the Rock n' Roll Mansion will definitely be drinking bevys and eating pizza on the sidelines cheering on the runners. You go, athletic peeps. Here's the good news: you don't have to be an elite runner or even a Bix walker to enjoy the festivities in downtown Davenport.  All you have to have is a desire to party (and an ability to rally if your crew is that strong).

The Bix run starts at 8 and the festivities are ready to go.

The Bix Mix is back!

On both Friday, July 26th and Saturday, July 27th, you can enjoy outdoor live music at the Bix Mix on 3rd Street in downtown Davenport. DaqFac, Kilkennys, Carriage Haus, the Capitol Theatre, & Macs Tavern are all coming together to make it a huge 50th birthday party for the Bix!

Some parties wait until Saturday to start but not the Bix Mix. Here's the lineup:

Friday, July 26th

7:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m.- Radio Flyer Pilots

On Saturday, July 27th, music begins at 11:00 a.m. and will feature: QC Rock Academy, Bobby Ray Bunch, Wicked Liz & the Bellyswirls, and the fantastic Pork Tornadoes. So it's about an all-day birthday party on Saturday!

There's a $7 cover charge after 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.

You can get more details about Bix Mix on it's Facebook event page.

Meanwhile, the 50th running of the Bix will kick off at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.

We'll see everyone downtown for the 50th Bix birthday party this weekend!
