Alternating Currents, an exciting festival of art, music, comedy, and film, will be the searching ground for America's Got Talent!
According to a post from the festival, a Casting Producer for the show will be coming to the Quad Cities during the festival to scout for talent among the many lineups at over two dozen venues.
The lineup features hundreds of performances from filmmakers, musicians, comedians, and artists. It will be August 15th-18th.
Alternating Currents has venues in Davenport, Rock Island, and Bettendorf, featuring both indoor and outdoor event settings. One of my favorite AC events from years past is the silent disco on the Skybridge, featuring multiple DJ's to listen to.
You can expect all kinds of music, ranging from classical to rock, a lineup of comedians with multiple styles, and filmmakers from all over the Midwest with different takes on the craft. There will even be a car show on Sunday and several chances to get your silent disco on. To stay organized, you can plan your Alternating Currents experience in their app.
Many of the events are free and open to all ages (though some evening shows might have a 21+ requirement).
Alternating Currents started in 2017 and is spearheaded by the Downtown Davenport Partnership, in connection with several other organizations, to highlight the artistic scene that the Quad Cities has.
As we get closer to the festival, you can keep up with the latest from Alternating Currents on their Facebook page.
