Sherrard High School has received high honors from U.S. News & World Report.

Out of all of the high schools in the country, you don't have to go far outside of the Quad Cities to find one that's among the best.

Sherrard High School has been listed by U.S. News & World Report as one of the 2025-2026 Best High Schools, according to a release from the district obtained by KWQC. They ranked 4th in the Davenport, Iowa metro area, making Sherrard the only rural school in the top 5 and the highest-ranked school in the area with less than 700 students.

In Illinois, Sherrard ranked 216th. Nationally, after evaluating almost 24,000 schools in the country, Sherrard came in at #6,204.

U.S. News & World Report's ranking focused on 6 factors: college readiness, reading, math and science proficiency, reading, math, and science performance, underserved student performance, college curriculum breadth, and graduation rates.

Sherrard's graduation rate is 91%.

Sherrard High School Principal Alex Johnson, said in the release:

I am proud of our students, staff and community as I know how hard they work. This recognition demonstrates our dedication to academic growth and success as a district.

Sherrard's overall score from U.S. News & World Report was 65.34 out of 100. LaMont Jones, managing editor for education at U.S. News, said about the new rankings:
