You Can Book These Adorable New Cabins In Starved Rock State Park
If you love the outdoors in the fall, get ready for a new experience at Starved Rock State Park.
There's a chain called Getaway that puts up little (quite nice) cabins around the country and they will be putting up a few at Starved Rock. The cabins can look like this:
with lovely big windows:
So Many Amenities
Even though it's a little cabin, according to Getaway Starved Rock's website, the cabins have several features, like:
- cell phone lockbox
- shampoo & conditioner
- mini-fridge
- salt, pepper & olive oil
- queen bed or queen bunks
- AC & heat
- pot, pan & dishware
- hot shower
- private toilet
- two-burner stove
- sink & drinking water
- chairs & picnic table
- fire pit & grill grate
- two dog bowls
- leash line
- dog treat
Plus you can buy stuff to make s'mores, as well as coffee and tea and firewood and firestarter. They even have a list of places to shop and get food near their Starved Rock Outpost. Starved Rock State Park is not far outside of Chicago.
Renting the cabin is not an insanely expensive stay either. It's $99/night. They have openings beginning in October.
Even though Starved Rock State Park has a spooky legend behind it's name, these cabins sound like a cool way to connect with nature. If you're ready to book a stay, you can do so on Getaway's website here.
Getaway's Starved Rock Outpost is in Ottawa, IL and has 58 cabins.
