Summer Jam ’24 Adds Xzibit, Quad Cities Rapper To Lineup
There has been a slight change to the lineup for Summer Jam 24 which is coming to the Quad Cities in August. Too $hort has been taken off the lineup and taking his place is a rapper who you've seen pimp many rides. Plus, a local Quad Cities rapper is also going to be joining this stacked lineup.
Summer Jam '24 is coming to the Vibrant Arena at The MARK in August. This year, Summer Jam 24 is now featuring Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Xzibit, Yung Joc, and the Quad City's very own, Torrian Ball. Tickets go on sale this Friday, June 28 at 10 a.m.
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony formed in 1991 in Cleveland, Ohio with the quintet of rappers: Bizzy Bone, Wish Bone, Layzie Bone, Krayzie Bone, and Flesh-n-Bone and pioneered a fast-paced rapping style called "Chopper Rap" during the 1990s, known for its unique melodic delivery.
They signed with Eazy-E's Ruthless Records in 1993 and released their debut EP, "Creepin on ah Come Up," the following year. This EP featured their breakout hit "Thuggish Ruggish Bone."
They achieved major success in 1995 with their sophomore album, "E 1999 Eternal," which included the smash hits "1st of tha Month" and "East 1999." Bone Thugs -N- Harmony won a Grammy in 1997 for their song "Tha Crossroads," a tribute to their late mentor Eazy-E. Credited as one of the greatest hip hop groups of all time, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony continues to record and tour, though with some lineup changes over the years.
Xzibit
Xzibit began rapping in the early 90s and released his debut album, "At the Speed of Life" in 1996. This album established him with hits like "Paparazzi". Dr Dre was impressed with his talents and produced Xzibit’s next 2 albums.
Among his most popular albums were "Weapons of Mass Destruction" (2004) and "Full Circle" (2006). Xzibit became a household name in the early 2000s as the host of MTV's popular reality show "Pimp My Ride, where he helped customize cars for lucky viewers.
Yung Joc
Yung Joc, born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia is best known for his smash hit "It's Goin' Down" which reached number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2006. He debuted with the album "New Joc City" in 2006, which along with its follow-up "Hustlenomics" (2007), achieved commercial success.
He launched his career with the Bad Boy South record label, founded by Sean Combs and has collaborated with artists like Lil Wayne, Trey Songz, and Soulja Boy. Although Yung Joc's biggest hits came in the early 2000s, he remains active in the music industry. Yung Joc's success extends beyond music. He has appeared on several reality shows, including "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta" and "Fix My Plate" with TLC's Chilli.
Torrian Ball
Quad City’s own Torrian Ball has also been added to the line-up. The East Moline native entered the hip-hop game at the young age of 14 when he was discovered by Chicago Hip Hop legend, Twista, who offered him a spot on his tour after witnessing him rap during his concert in Davenport. His debut single “Wings” was released in 2014 and featured Grammy Award Winning artist Wiz Khalifa.
This opened up many doors and allowed him to garner international attention. In 2016, he was featured on the lineup at the Vibrant Arena with legendary rap artist Lil Wayne and returned to the arena in 2021 to perform alongside Lil Durk. In 2018, Torrian started going viral with his rap videos garnishing over 100 million views across all social media platforms. His biggest singles to date “Jungle” and “Hold On” both have over 5 million streams. Ball will take the stage at 7 pm and will be sure to get the party started so fans should make it a point to arrive early.
