Bettendorf School Security Guard Recognized For “Putting Others Before Herself”

We'll be wrapping up the spring semester before we know it and the kids are in class working hard, so we're going out again for our surprises with Ultimate Chocolates to highlight and reward a deserving Quad Cities teacher.

It's now time to announce this week's B100 & Ultimate Chocolate's QC Teacher of the Week!

Congrats to Shelby Johnson, Security at Bettendorf High School in Bettendorf!

It seems unusual to see a security guard as our QC Teacher of the Week, right? But Ms. Johnson is so beloved she was nominated 4 times! Here's what they all said:

Mrs. Shelby from Bettendorf High School deserves to win this award as a security guard because not only does she keep our safe school she also is the reason many students put a smile on their face daily during the school day. Mrs. Shelby puts others before herself which makes her stand out differently from many other staff members.

Shelby should be nominated because of her hard working dedication, persistence, ensuring all her students are safe and helping out when needed!

Shelby is there for all students no matter what. She is very supportive and sees the best in each individual.

Although she is a security guard, she makes sure students are getting what they need to. Sitting them down helping them with homework. She also takes her spare time to help the special education classes.
