A stunt that went awry has the Los Angeles Police Department looking for answers that lead to the arrest of the star of a newly viral video.

The police department says that the driver of a rented 2018 Tesla Model S, performed the stunt near the intersection of Baxter and Alvarado streets in the middle of the night, over the weekend.

On a hill, the video shows the Tesla driving at a high rate of speed, heading up the hill and jumping from the back side of the intersection past a group of spectators, through the air, and some distance down the hill before it landed hard on its front wheels.

The vehicle then crashed into multiple parked cars and trash cans as it came to a stop down the hill.

Multiple videos have gone viral, showing different angles of the incident.

One of the angles was pulled from another Tesla's camera system, showing the insanity of the car flying through the intersection, and the height it gained as it went on.

The LAPD shared a compilation of videos, one of which showed the final damage of the car.

“Over 90% of the tips are of the same person who has a TikTok handle of @dominykas or @durtedom on Twitter. He is considered a person of interest based on the public postings on his account,” the LAPD’s Central Traffic Division tweeted.

“It never should’ve been done,” Detective Juan Campos said. “I don’t know what they were thinking about. It could’ve gotten somebody killed.”
