The Davenport Police Department Has a New Warning For Drivers
With the new year just beginning, it may take time for drivers to get used to slowing down in school zones again. But the Davenport Police Department wants to get the message out that they will be conducting safety enforcement in these areas.
The DPD posted this message on their Facebook page recently:
The police department obviously means business since they show an officer with a radar gun in the post. According to drivinglaws.org, the penalty for speeding in an Iowa school zone is $100 plus. Not only could you face a hefty fine for exceeding the 25 MPH limit, but you could also harm a child. Clearly, it's not worth the risk.
