The Galesburg Police Department Needs Help Naming Their Pup

There's a new K9 officer at the Galesburg police department, and his name is...to be determined.

He has been assigned to work with Officer Jake Taylor, after they go through a 10-week training period where they bond and learn to work as a team. So far, there have been more than 300 suggestions made, but as of this posting, none have been chosen yet.

What would you name the dog? Anyone and everyone is encouraged to leave a comment on the post below:

For what it's worth, the pup came to Galesburg from Shallow Creek Kennels in Sharpsville, Pennsylvania. So maybe he needs an east coast name? Like Penn?

But personally, I'd love to see him named Scooby. There's something really satisfying about the idea of a police dog living up to the legacy of a cartoon detective dog.

It's unclear when an official name will be chosen, but we'll keep you posted when we find out!
