Popular Iowa Restaurant, Speakeasy Closes Doors Without Warning
A photo of a note on the door of a fancy restaurant and speakeasy in a major Eastern Iowa town is making the rounds on social media saying that it has closed permanently without any warning.
The restaurant has been open for a little over one year and for those that visited the restaurant and/or the speakeasy, I heard nothing but great things. Personally, I only was able to check out the speakeasy and it was great every time.
After driving down to the restaurant in Davenport to find that sign, I can confirm that The Garrison has officially closed its doors forever.
The Garrison Opens In Downtown Davenport
If you were feeling particularly fancy and classy, you had a new option when The Garrison opened October 14th, 2023, on West 2nd Street in Davenport, by the Skybridge courtyard. The 20's-themed restaurant (led by Executive Chef, Jonathan Newman) had a lunch menu and a dinner menu full of fancy bites and libations.
The Garrison is also had a speakeasy that was open from Wednesdays-Saturdays from 4:00 p.m.-2:00 a.m., that required a password to enter.

The Garrison In Davenport Closes Suddenly
Tuesday night, a social media post was making its rounds on the local Quad Cities Facebook groups about a note posted on the door of The Garrison (131 W. 2nd, Suite 1B, Davenport). While my photo below is hard to read, I can confirm that the note is in fact there at The Garrison is closed.
The note reads,
"To Our Valued Customers,
It is with great sadness that we must announce the immediate closure of The Garrison. Due to unforeseen circumstances.
We deeply regret the impact this decision will have on all our loyal customers. We wish you all the very best & apologize for the abrupt closure.
Sincerely,
Endeavor Management Group, LLC
The Garrison"
Beyond the note, there hasn't been any post from The Garrison or the management group on social media or their website.
Now, the two restaurant fronts on the first floor of the Common Chord building are empty.
