When I was a kid, my family and I would always get those advent calendars with candy in them. It was a fun way to count down the days until Christmas, and now you can relive that childhood wonder here in the Quad Cities with the  German American Heritage Center & Museum.

It's the largest Advent Calendar in Iowa with a new window being revealed each day. If you hadn't gotten a chance to go check this piece out you still have time with a new exciting window being open today.

The theme this year is "Fractured Fairy Tale." The design is inspired by Grimm's Fairy tales and designed by 7th Grade students at the Creative Arts Academy, each student had a chance to express their creativity with these fair tale and Christmas combination.
