The Quad Cities Holiday Celebrations Kick Off This Weekend
It's the first weekend in December, meaning the first wave of holiday activities are here. And while there may not be any snow, The holiday spirit is in full swing.
For today, Friday December 6th:
If you and the kids are looking for a fun activity, check out Muscatine Parks and Recreation's 2019 Candy Cane Hunt. It takes place this evening outside Pearl City Station starting at 6 p.m. Children ages Pre-K through 4th Grade will be filling their bags with candy canes, and prizes.
Everyone is invited to Chordbusters' 11th Annual Christmas Show starting at 7 p.m. It's a free show, and will be at a new venue this year, Bethel Wesley UMC Church at 1201 13th Street in Moline.
It wouldn't be the holidays without beautiful music, and tonight Handel's Messiah Community Sing & Benefit is at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Davenport. This starts at 7:30 p.m. All singers and listeners are welcome.
For Saturday, December 7th:
The Bettendorf Police Department are hosting their fifth annual Pack-A-Police Car Toy Drive from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The toy drive will held in the Bettendorf City Hall parking lot, 1609 State Street. New unwrapped toys, books, and monetary donations will be accepted.There will also be cookie decorating with Mrs. Claus and refreshments available.
The beloved Holiday Train will be making it's stop in Davenport. You'll wanna be on the corner of Western Avenue and West River Drive at 9:15pm to catch this train. This event also encourages you to bring non-perishable food donations for local food banks.
