The Quad Cities Will Experience Dangerous Heat This Week
Buckle up, Quad Cities. It's going to be a long, hot week.
WQAD reports that the QC can expect highs in the 90's and upper 90's by the end of the week. High temps mean the heat index (the "feels like" temperature) could reach 100-115 degrees by Thursday.
Storms are in the forecast as well. Moisture left over from Tropical Storm Barry will make its way to the north and east of us, so there's a possibility for heavy rain Wednesday through Friday.
Bottom line? Wednesday through Saturday look dangerously hot. Avoid being outside if you can and make sure to consume plenty of water.
