This Is The Funniest Street Name In Iowa, According To Reader’s Digest

Street names really do have a golden way of being funny.

Do you ever see a street name when driving somewhere and you have to do a doubletake? Did I read that right?

Street names become one of those things that, like town names, locals grow to know and love and enjoy when a visitor remarks on it. And God knows there are plenty of weird town and street names around here.

Think of the wildest street name you've heard. Keep it in mind. Now, let's look at what Reader's Digest says that the funniest street name in Iowa is. Because I'm not sure our definition of humor is totally on the same page.

For example: they listed the funniest street name in Massachusetts as Pleasant Street and Connecticut's is Drury Lane. Lol?

I don't know about you, but the one they've picked for Iowa seems relatively tame to me. It is ironic, though in the quality of houses around it.

Iowa's Funniest Street Name (Allegedly)

The honor goes to a path in Iowa City, that actually looks like it has some lovely houses (counter to the road name) in the area.

Reader's Digest says the funniest street name in the state is Burr Oak Court. Their argument being that when you say it fast, it sounds like 'broke'. Haha?

But judging from the neighborhood on Google Maps, I don't think one could be 'burr oak' and live there. Some lovely houses way out of my lifelong price range back there.
