We've reached the end of August and many of us are ready for fall to begin. So when exactly are the leaves going to start changing color? Unfortunately, it looks like those of us in the Quad Cities will have to wait a bit.

According to The Weather Channel, the Midwest will not see peak foliage until mid-October, so roughly six weeks away. Our neighbors to the north, Minnesota and Wisconsin, are a little bit luckier and will experience changing leaves at the beginning of October.

I guess this is good news for those of you who aren't ready to say goodbye to summer just yet. I, on the other hand, can not wait for crisper days and changing leaves. In the meantime, I guess I'll drink my pumpkin spice latte on ice while I impatiently wait for fall to arrive.
