Every state has a few towns that are hard to say but there are a few that just take the cake.

Whether it be a foreign influence or a Native American term, there are unique names across America. And they can be hard to say. Sometimes, there's even a divide among the state's locals on how to say a town name.

Illinois and Iowa both have town names that are difficult to say. Wisconsin might have them both beat.

It's Oconomowoc! It has a reputation of being a charming town, surrounded by lakes. As for saying the town's name, residents think that the reason it comes off as being difficult to pronounce is because there are so many O's in the name.

The name comes from the Potawatomi term for "Where the Waters Meet" and had a population of about 18,000 at the 2020 Census. It was incorporated as a city in 1865.

They have a few golden nuggets in their history. In 1907, resident Ole Evinrude invented the outboard boat motor. In 1939, the new movie "The Wizard of Oz" had it's premier in Oconomowoc.

Nowadays, many people from Chicago and surrounding areas have summer homes in Oconomowoc and it's a very popular summer town.

You Could Own The Greatest House In The State Of Wisconsin

There's a home in Wisconsin that everyone in the state would call the best house on the market. The house is reasonably priced for the amount of money you could get out of it. Why does this house sound like a gold mine? Because it sits and looks directly at the heart of Title Town U.S.A., the legendary Lambeau Field, the home of the Green Bay Packers.
