According to rrstar.com, health officials are warning us about a potential Measles outbreak here in Illinois and they are encouraging everyone to get vaccinated if you haven't already. In the last few weeks, cases of the measles have been confirmed in 10 states. Two of those cases are right here in Illinois. The largest outbreak so far has been in Washington State where officials have confirmed 53 different cases.

Katherine O'Toole, public information officer for the health department said: " While Measles is a highly contagious disease, it is vaccine preventable and we encourage residents to make sure they're up to date on their vaccinations". The two cases that showed up in Illinois were in Champaign-Urbana and the two college students that caught it were not vaccinated.
