I took up Uber driving last week as a way to make a little extra money. The pay isn't outstanding but I enjoy driving around the QC and interacting with people, so it's fine with me.

But many Uber drivers in larger cities are growing frustrated with the lack of income. The Super Bowl takes place in the San Francisco Bay Area, and drivers are threatening to stay offline during the busiest day of the year.

One flyer circulating online urges drivers to take Sunday off to make the point, and to spread the word on Twitter using the hashtag #UberSuperBowlStrike. [Wired.com]

The complaints bring up valid points, but I knew what I was getting into when I signed up. Uber is meant to be something you do as little or as often as you want. Plus, with "surge pricing" you'll make MORE money when cities are busier (supply and demand...remember that?)

That said, I'm not driving tomorrow. It'll have to take more than money to stop me from watching football :-P
