Vegan Meat is Being Added to the Menu at QC Taco Bells

Vegans and vegetarians, rejoice!

Taco Bell has been adding plenty of veggie-friendly options to their menu recently, including a vegetarian Quesarito and Crunch Wrap, plus other items can be customized to be completely vegan.

Now the chain is kicking things up a notch by adding plant-based meat.

Thrillist reports Taco Bell will begin offering vegan "beef" within the year at locations nationwide.

Taco Bell CEO Mark King says TB is working out the details right now.

"We definitely see the plant-based protein has a place on the menu," King said, noting that while the company has met with both Beyond Meat and Impossible Foods in recent months, Taco Bell has yet to make a final decision on exactly what it will end up introducing on its menu.

"I tried all the food which was really exciting, and way beyond my expectation," King added of Beyond Meat. 

It sounds like we could be munching on vegan tacos at 2 a.m. very soon.
