Western Illinois Special Education Teacher Awarded For Advocating, Caring For Kids

The Spring 2025 semester is going strong. So of course, we went out with our awesome program with Famous Dave's to honor and reward a great Quad Cities teacher.

It's now time to announce this week's B100 & Famous Dave's QC Teacher of the Week!

Congrats to Chelsea Wiegal, Special Education teacher at Ridgewood Elementary in East Moline!

Ms. Wiegal was nominated by Katie, a parent of one of her students. Katie had this to say in her nomination:

She is just beyond amazing. The growth I have seen in my son has way surpassed my expectations. Chelsea goes above and beyond for all her students and she advocates for their needs. When you think of an amazing teacher she comes to mind and I can’t say enough good about her. Chelsea is truly top notch in her teaching children with special needs. You can tell she truly loves her job and loves all the children she works with. She will message way after work hours if I have a question about my son’s day. She has made my son’s kindergarten year amazing. Many other parents will agree that she is the reason their child has done so well throughout their education. If you know anything about special education it really takes a special person to work with those kids and Chelsea is the definition of that. She is so deserving of teacher of the week because of her going the extra mile with children that are challenging and not batting an eye.
