After we thought it was canceled for this year, a classic QC feast is back!

We told you last week about Mr. Thanksgiving's annual community feast not happening this year, for the first time in it's 50+ year history in the QC. Mr. Thanksgiving announced his retirement and it was a sad announcement to hear for many in the QCA.

But luckily, another venue has stepped in and will host the feast with Mr. Thanksgiving this year!

In years past, it's been at Southpark Mall in Moline. This year, Mr. Thanksgiving's community feast will be at Mercado On Fifth!

Bob Vogelbaugh, the Mr. Thanksgiving himself, told WQAD:

I am thrilled to see our community come together to support one another. t’s heartwarming to know that we will continue providing meals and companionship to those in need. This holiday should be a time of joy, and with the help of our friends and volunteers, we can make that happen!

Dinner Details

The giveaway of meals will be on Thursday, November 28th from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Mercado on Fifth is at 423 12th Street in Moline.

R.I.A. Credit Union is sponsoring the dinner and helping cover food costs. You can either donate to the dinner's food fund (all Quad Cities R.I.A. locations are taking donations for it) or you can sign up to volunteer to help serve the dinner on their website.

We're especially thankful to see this QC Thanksgiving tradition is back for another year! Let's all go have some turkey!
