Yelp Says This Illinois Brunch Is One Of America’s Best
If you're looking for the nation's best brunch, you may not have to go far.
Brunch is the best meal of the day. Some kind of big, satisfying breakfast plate around 10:00 or 11:00, that sweet spot between actual lunch and breakfast. Whether you're Team Sweet or Savory, there are brunch options for everyone.
Yelp has released their list of Top 100 Brunch Spots 2024. The restaurants and menu items on it look dreamy. It won't take you long to scroll through the list to find Midwest representation.
That's a plate at the nation's number 3 favorite brunch spot: Bryn Mawr Breakfast Club in Chicago!
It's in North Park (with a sister branch in Belmont Gardens) and is praised on Yelp for being "adorable, cozy" and having "huge portions". Yelp says chef-owner Manny Mejia draws on his Mexican heritage to create popular breakfast skillets and variations on French toast to make the restaurant so beloved. The most photographed dishes include a Carnitas Skillet, Spiced Banana Waffle, and their signature Bread Pudding French Toast.
Bryn Mawr does not take reservations according to Yelp and brunch is served only on Saturdays and Sundays. They are known for efficiency though and even for large groups, the wait is 10-15 minutes tops at the 27-table eatery.
It sounds like a place to add to the agenda for the next Chicago visit. How can you not love a good brunch? You can get more details about Bryn Mawr Breakfast Club on their website.
