4 Snacks You Buy For Your Kids Because YOU Secretly Love To Eat Them
Everyday, I pack myself a snack for my show. Yes I'm in my 20s, but I have the appetite of a 10-year-old. I just want snacks ready at all times. Today, I made myself a mixture of regular and pretzel goldfish. (10/10 would recommend).
As I was eating, a coworker came in and took a handful. She told me that she couldn't remember the last time she bought goldfish – then promptly headed to the store to buy some. It got me thinking; some snacks we never grow out of.
Maybe you buy them for your kids now, but you still sneak some. Here are five I think are most likely to go missing a little faster:
There's just something about foods shaped like animals that are really fun. With goldfish, there are so many combination possibilities. Plus, they're small. If you sneak some from the main stash, the kids probably won't notice – at least not right away.
Okay, these aren't technically snacks, but they're still addicting. Sure, they test your aim (and your patience) with the straws, but the nostalgia factor makes you feel the impulse to grab one at lunch. It's just enough to quench your thirst, but not to send you running to the bathroom during a meeting.
Before there was selfie duck faces, there was the OG duck face. When eating Pringles, there's an irresistible urge to take two of them and give yourself a duck beak. It's helpful to do this with your kids, so the silliness is a little more accepted, but who among us hasn't done it alone (maybe for a snapchat?). These things are addicting and there's no shame in picking up a few extra tubes.
There's something special about food shaped like animals, but really any shape will do. From Scooby-Doo to Spider-Man, there are countless variations of fruit snacks. They're the perfect lunchtime sweet for the kids...and for you. It's quick, it's easy, and it's tasty. There's no shame in admitting that the box went empty a little sooner because you had a few packs!
