A 60-Year-Old Man Was Hit By A Semi In Davenport Today (And SURVIVED)

This is the kind of thing you never expect, and certainly never WANT to hear!

A 60-year-old man was hit by a semi on I-80 today. According to police, he had gotten out of a parked car on the south side of the road when the truck hit him. Amazingly, he did not sustain any life-threatening injuries and is recovering at a nearby hospital.

This all happened around 12:15 p.m. today in the eastbound lanes, police said. Traffic was down to one lane, but was restored shortly after 1 p.m.

We're so glad he's okay, and hope that his family have been able to come see him. But it's a stark reminder to other drivers: always look before entering the street, and always ALWAYS be aware of any unexpected pedestrians when you're in the driver's seat.
